MEET the captain

Capt. Kyler

I’ve spent plenty of time fishing both offshore and inshore around 30A, but inshore fishing is where my true passion lies. For me, this is about more than just catching fish—it’s about creating experiences and building relationships. I love getting to know my guests, seeing familiar faces return year after year, and being a part of the memories they make on the water. Customer service is at the heart of everything I do, and that’s what drives me every day as a captain.

Target Species

What we catch

Jack Crevalle

When a school of jack crevalle crashes the shallows, it’s pure chaos—in the best way. Pound for pound, few fish fight harder, and their explosive topwater strikes and brute strength are unforgettable. Though not commonly kept for eating, jacks are a favorite for anglers chasing raw power and nonstop action in Choctawhatchee Bay.

Spanish Mackerel

Fast, flashy, and always on the move, Spanish mackerel bring high-energy action to the bay, especially during their seasonal runs. These schooling fish are often found busting bait near the surface, making for exciting sight-casting opportunities. Their razor-sharp teeth and blistering runs demand quick reflexes and make every hookup feel electric.

Mangrove Snapper

Mangrove snapper are sharp-eyed and quick-striking predators that hang around structures like docks, bridges, and submerged debris in Choctawhatchee Bay. Known for being both cunning and aggressive, they put up a spirited fight on light tackle. These snapper are not only fun to catch but also rank high on the list for fresh, flavorful table fare.

Black Drum

Often overlooked but always appreciated, black drum are dependable fighters found along the bay’s deeper channels and grassy edges. Their size can vary greatly, from smaller “puppy drum” to hefty, rod-bending adults. They’re a great option when targeting variety and make for a memorable addition to any day on the water.

Flounder

Catching flounder in the bay takes a bit of patience and finesse, but the payoff is worth it. These bottom-hugging ambush predators love hanging near drop-offs, structure, and shoreline transitions. Their subtle bite and sudden bursts of energy make for a fun and rewarding challenge—plus, they’re excellent on the plate.

Redfish

Redfish are a staple species in the bay and never go out of season. Whether you're sight-fishing on the flats or working the edges of potholes, their aggressive takes and drag-pulling runs make them a true thrill. With their bronze coloration and signature tail spots, they’re as photogenic as they are tasty.

Speckled Trout

Targeting speckled trout in Choctawhatchee Bay is a favorite for light tackle anglers who enjoy fast-paced action. These fish are known for their quick hits and are most responsive around dawn or during moving tides. You'll often find them cruising the shallows and grass flats, making for an exciting and visual fishing experience.
