Fishing on the Choctawhatchee Bay was good during the week of July 12–18, with hot summer temperatures and calm conditions creating excellent opportunities for anglers throughout Santa Rosa Beach and the 30A area.
Redfish continued to feed aggressively across the bay’s grass flats, especially during the cooler morning hours. Mangrove snapper also provided steady action around docks and other structure, giving anglers visiting the 30A coast plenty of opportunities to catch quality fish.

Live menhaden was the top-producing bait throughout the week, consistently attracting both redfish and mangrove snapper. Targeting healthy grass flats and dock pilings proved to be the most productive pattern as fish used structure and ambushed baitfish during the summer heat.

With summer in full swing, early morning trips continue to offer the best action before temperatures climb later in the day. Calm weather has also made for smooth boat rides and enjoyable fishing conditions across Choctawhatchee Bay, making it a great time for families, experienced anglers, and visitors vacationing along Scenic Highway 30A.
